AI Capacity Building Workshop Opens in Beijing for 37 Countries

On September 7, the AI Capacity Building Workshop opened at Peking University, with government representatives from 37 Global South countries attending for six days. It is the first activity under China's pledge of 5,000 AI training slots, featuring 4 themes, 9 lectures, and site visits. Hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and organized by Peking University.

This event is a concrete action by China to promote global AI capacity building, helping developing countries enhance autonomous AI capabilities through training, potentially influencing international AI governance. For education, such training will facilitate international flow of AI educational resources and provide overseas market opportunities for related products. Provides systematic training for AI policymakers from developing countries, potentially influencing their domestic AI education policies.
