Heilongjiang Begins Building AI Education and Teaching Research Centers

Heilongjiang's Department of Education is supporting Harbin Institute of Technology in leading a provincial AI education and teaching research center, with branch centers at Harbin Engineering University, Northeast Forestry University, and other institutions spanning engineering, agriculture, medicine, and the humanities. Drawing on their strongest disciplines, the centers will study how AI may transform industries and reshape jobs over the next five to ten years and drive changes to academic disciplines and programs.

This province-led AI education infrastructure will directly affect university curricula, teacher development, and industry-academia-research cooperation in Heilongjiang and offers other provinces a possible model. Participating universities will adjust AI-related disciplines and courses more quickly to industry needs, while the center network integrates and shares resources and strengthens regional talent development.
