Morocco Establishes Four Public-Interest Institutes Covering AI, Education, Industry and Smart Cities

After publishing joint decisions approving their founding agreements in the Official Gazette, Morocco has established four public-interest institutions focused on artificial intelligence, education, industry and smart cities. The Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform said the institutions are the Jazari Nucleus Institute, the Jazari Institute for Education and Technological Innovation, the Jazari Industry X.0 Institute and the Jazari Smart City Institute. The education institute will develop data- and AI-driven solutions, strengthen students' future skills and improve teachers' technological capabilities, while the Nucleus Institute focuses on training, research and development, and sovereign AI. The initiative was led by the ministry under Minister Delegate Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, in partnership with government bodies, public institutions, universities and economic stakeholders, and sits within the Maroc IA 2030 roadmap.

This is a national institutional arrangement that writes AI talent development and teacher capacity building into institutional mandates, changing who supplies AI education in Morocco and how resources are organized, and potentially shaping public procurement of related products and training services.
