U.S. State Department Funds AI Education Roadshow in Iraq to Advance University Partnerships

The U.S. Department of State is offering about $200,000 through the EducationUSA AI Roadshow to bring experts from U.S. universities to Iraq to present AI education programs and promote university partnerships between the two countries. A single award of $185,000–$200,000 is expected, with applications due September 11, 2026. The program seeks to attract international students and promote responsible AI, data privacy, and related topics.

The funding will directly expand Iraqi students' access to U.S. AI education and encourage long-term cooperation in curricula and research. It may create international project opportunities for providers. Iraqi students and teachers gain U.S. resources and exchanges, while U.S. universities can expand international recruitment and academic partnerships with Iraqi institutions.
