IIT Madras-incubated Bodhan AI launches AI tutor supporting 22 Indian languages

Bodhan AI, in partnership with AI4Bharat, released four open AI models covering speech, translation, and OCR across Indian languages. It also launched a Student Tutor Bot for Classes 6-12 and a Teacher Assistant Bot, based on NCERT and SCERT curricula, supporting text and voice in 22 languages. These tools are part of the Bharat EduAI Stack, envisioned as sovereign digital infrastructure.

This event extends AI education tools beyond English to India's multilingual environment, directly affecting teaching and learning for students in Classes 6-12. As part of the Bharat EduAI Stack, it may become a component of India's digital education infrastructure, influencing localization standards and adoption conditions for AI education products. Indian students can receive AI tutoring in local languages, reducing language barriers and potentially improving educational accessibility. The Teacher Assistant Bot can automate lesson planning and assignment evaluation, increasing teaching efficiency, but requires teacher oversight.
