China Releases a Digital Education Ethics Framework Classifying AI Uses as Prohibited, Restricted, or Encouraged

On May 12, China released a reference framework for digital education ethics, setting out principles including human decision-making, complementary collaboration, context-sensitive application, and differentiated governance.

The framework divides uses of digital technology in education into prohibited, restricted, and encouraged scenarios, allowing ethical requirements to be translated into product permissions, human review, and school-access rules.
