Chongqing's 'Two Institutes and One Bay' Accelerates: AI College Expands and General-Agent Platform Nears Launch

The Chongqing government reported on August 21 that Chongqing Artificial Intelligence College is conducting a second-round selection across 13 partner universities. It admitted 450 new students in March 2026 and plans to train more than 2,000 AI specialists cumulatively by 2030. A traffic early-warning system developed by the Chongqing Institute of General Artificial Intelligence has reached 95% identification accuracy and reduced abnormal-congestion alerts to under one minute. Its Mingjing full-lifecycle agent platform is expected to launch by year-end, and a RMB 2 billion industry fund is already in place.

As a national AI pilot zone, Chongqing's talent-development programs and general-agent platform will directly affect the talent supply and implementation settings available to AI education products, creating infrastructure and a talent reserve for education applications. The college's expansion and industry-education integration will provide more use cases and talent, while general-agent infrastructure and computing support will lower development barriers and accelerate adoption at scale.
