Kashmir Central University Hosts AI in Education Workshop and Opens AI Trainer Centre of Excellence

On September 2, 2026, the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) opened a two-day international workshop on "Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Education" at its Tulmulla campus, organized by its Department of Information Technology alongside an International Academic Partnership Meet. During the event, the university inaugurated an AI Trainer Centre of Excellence, and Vision Digital India's Intel-supported AI Training Mission announced its 99th AI Lab. Several vice-chancellors and guests spoke about AI's impact on education, jobs and the role of teachers.

The event moves AI education from conceptual discussion to institutional facilities, including a training center and an expanding lab network, offering explainable reference value for university teacher capacity building, curriculum design and AI talent supply. Its impact is mainly limited to participating institutions and partner networks, and no independent research or quantitative results yet show changes in teaching outcomes.
