DGIST Launches First AI Microdegree Cohort for Working Developers

DGIST in South Korea officially launched the first cohort of its AI Microdegree program in September 2026, targeting IT professionals with about 10 years of experience. The program received 96 applicants for 20 spots, a 4.8-to-1 competition rate. Courses run from September to December in a blended format, with a certificate awarded upon completing six courses.

This program provides practice-oriented AI education for experienced developers, helping cultivate AX talent to meet industry needs. For education product developers, such microdegree models may become a new trend in corporate training, influencing the AI education market.
