ByteDance's AI Education Push: Gauth Launches 200+ AI Math Courses and User-Created Course Feature

According to a Duozhi report dated September 30, 2026, Gauth, ByteDance's overseas education app, fully launched its AI Course on September 1, 2026, adding more than 200 math courses to its initial history offerings, covering U.S. high school content such as Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry and AP Calculus, and opening a user-created course feature. In the same period, Doubao Learning in China launched a Synchronous Course feature linking explanation, follow-up questioning, practice and review into a closed loop. Official data shows Gauth has been downloaded over 200 million times since its 2020 launch, with mathematics the most consulted subject globally.

This push shifts competition in AI education from photo-based question-answering tools toward course organization and learning-process management, directly affecting how students use these products and the shape of education products. For domestic users, Doubao Learning embeds AI into synchronous courses and interactive video lessons, changing the after-school learning entry point; for overseas users, Gauth expands supply with 200+ math courses and user-created courses covering mainstream U.S. high school math content. The report also notes that content accuracy, instructional design and actual learning effects of AI-generated courses still need verification, so no learning-outcome improvement can be claimed. Gauth added more than 200 math courses and opened user-created courses, letting overseas students generate interactive courses by topic, level and focus, shifting course supply from a fixed library to dynamic generation. Doubao Learning launched Synchronous Course and ran outdoor ads, further concentrating domestic parents' and students' awareness and entry point for AI learning tools in the Doubao App.
