Hebei AI Trainer (Data Annotator) Vocational Skills Competition Final Held in Shijiazhuang

The final of Hebei Province's "Skills Light Up the Future" AI Trainer (Data Annotator) Vocational Skills Competition was recently held at Shijiazhuang University, co-hosted by the Hebei Provincial Data and Government Services Bureau, the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Provincial Department of Education, and the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions. The competition aligns with Level 3 (senior worker) of the national vocational skills standard for AI trainers, features employee and student groups, and uses a dual assessment of theoretical knowledge and practical skills across five tracks: images, video, speech, text, and 3D point clouds. More than 1,100 contestants registered, 183 advanced to the provincial final, and 9 of Shijiazhuang's 14 contestants won awards.

Data annotation is a foundational role in AI model training and in the data pipeline of AI education products. Hebei's provincial competition aligned with the national vocational skills standard directly relates to the supply and training standards of AI data talent, and the student group offers a channel for the education system to participate. Its impact is mainly at the level of talent selection and standard implementation; the event itself does not involve teaching outcomes or industry-scale data, and follow-up results depend on how outcomes are applied and how the training system advances. It provides a selection channel for data annotation and AI training talent in Hebei aligned with Level 3 of the national vocational skills standard, and the student group gives enrolled students access to skills certification and job matching. Co-hosted by data, human resources, education, and trade union departments, it may encourage local governments to incorporate AI data skills training into vocational skills programs and institutional practice.
