Jiangsu to Introduce General AI Education in All Primary and Secondary Schools This Autumn

Jiangsu launched its universal general AI education project for primary and secondary schools in Nanjing on August 18. Beginning this autumn, every school in the province will offer general AI courses. The provincial education digital-information center and institute of education sciences jointly completed 16 class periods of training, which drew 9.03 million cumulative views and essentially reached all full-time and part-time teachers and teaching researchers. A new resource section brings together more than 130 national-level courses and nearly 800 class periods of structured curriculum for grades 1–12.

This substantive province-level policy directly affects curricula and staffing across Jiangsu. It changes market access and school purchasing demand for AI education products while offering other regions an implementation model. New general AI classes will drive demand for curriculum resources and teacher training. Cloud classrooms and on-site teaching support provide a safety net for rural schools and help narrow the urban-rural gap in AI education.
