KT Corp and Busan Education Office Wrap Up Arts-Tech AI Education Program
On Aug. 27, KT Corp held AI literacy and ethics education for students at Busan Arts Middle School in partnership with the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education and the Korea Press Foundation. Sessions led by KT's university student IT supporters group KIT covered AI ethics, generative AI experiences, board games and team missions, alongside mentoring. KT also operated its mobile AI experience center, KT AI Station, where students tried generative AI studio tools and AI human technology, and engaged with digital ethics content on deepfake detection and fake news identification. Students watched "Jump X Cut," a media literacy education play developed by the Korea Press Foundation, followed by a discussion.
This is a concrete case of a Korean telecom company, a regional education office and a press foundation jointly delivering AI ethics and digital citizenship education, covering generative AI experience, deepfake detection and fake news identification. It offers a reference for how schools organize AI literacy courses and how companies participate in public education provision. The impact is concentrated on curriculum content and the public-private cooperation model; the original text provides no quantitative assessment of learning outcomes or skill gains, so no inference about education quality changes can be drawn. Provides a sample AI ethics and media literacy course jointly organized by a company, an education office and a press foundation, covering generative AI experience and deepfake detection. KT's KIT touring model expanded from the Incheon West Sea Five Islands to four Busan schools, indicating a replicable path for corporate volunteer participation in K-12 AI education.
