Kyndryl and Skillsoft Offer Free AI Training to U.S. High School Students and Teachers

Kyndryl and Skillsoft announced on September 29 a free AI education program for eligible U.S. grades 9 to 12 students and teachers, delivered through the Skillsoft Percipio platform. The program supports Kyndryl's commitment to the White House AI education initiative and runs through May 29, 2027. Under the current agreement, access is capped at 25,000 aggregated student and educator users. The curriculum covers AI fundamentals, prompt engineering and the use of AI tools in everyday tasks, with opportunities to earn digital credentials.

This is a concrete move by companies to enter U.S. high school AI teaching through a free platform plus digital credentials, directly changing how some districts access AI courses and teacher training. The impact centers on course supply and available teacher resources, but the 25,000-user cap limits reach, and the source provides no independent data on learning outcomes or adoption results. Eligible U.S. school districts can access AI courses and digital credentials for free until May 29, 2027, lowering the cost for some schools to introduce AI teaching content. The program serves both students and teachers, giving educators AI training resources tied to classroom content, but the 25,000-user cap limits actual scale.
