Medly AI Raises Nearly £6 Million in Seed Funding to Give Every Child an AI Tutor

Medly AI has announced a seed round of nearly £6 million led by Felix Capital, with participation from Eka Ventures and Ada Ventures. The platform describes itself as the world's first AI tutor for exam preparation and has gained more than 400,000 UK users since launching in February 2025. In July, Medly received funding from a UK Department for Education pilot program for AI tutoring tools intended to improve outcomes for disadvantaged students in England.

Medly AI's financing and Department for Education support show that AI tutors for exam preparation are gaining recognition from investors and policymakers. They may also intensify educational inequality if paid AI tools widen resource gaps. Medly AI will grow its UK user base and enter the U.S. market, affecting how more students prepare for exams.
