OpenAI Launches a National Education Initiative, Bringing Tools, Training, and Research to Seven Countries First

On January 21, OpenAI launched Education for Countries, with initial partnerships involving Estonia, Greece, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United Arab Emirates.

The initiative advances AI tools, teacher training, and effectiveness research as a package, expanding the unit of deployment from individual schools or universities to national education systems.

Key areas to watch include actual participation in each country, curriculum and language adaptation, procurement and data governance, and whether independent evidence of learning outcomes is published.
