Saving Grace opens free CAPS-aligned AI tutor access to Grade 12 learners
Saving Grace Education announced on 6 October 2026 that it is offering free access to Saving Grace AI Tutor for Grade 12 learners preparing for final examinations. The platform is a CAPS-aligned conversational AI tutor that lets learners ask questions, receive explanations and continue an interactive conversation, while generating visual explanations on a learning board. It is positioned to support teachers and learners rather than replace them.
South African families have very different levels of access to educational resources, and free AI tutoring offers a scalable independent study support for learners who cannot afford regular private tutoring. The event also makes curriculum alignment and the teacher's role concrete for AI education products: the platform must connect to CAPS, while teachers remain responsible for teaching judgment and learners remain responsible for engaging with their education. Actual usage scale and learning support effects still require public data. Grade 12 learners who cannot afford multi-subject private tutoring can access conversational explanations and visual aids outside school hours. An AI tutoring product enters the South African CAPS curriculum context, making curriculum alignment and teacher role boundaries adoption conditions.
