SCERT Uttarakhand and Kotak Education Foundation Sign MoU to Advance Teacher AI Literacy
On September 29, 2026, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Uttarakhand and the Kotak Education Foundation (KEF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to build AI literacy and competency among teachers and strengthen digital and technology-enabled education across the state. The two sides will jointly work on content development, online course design, technical support, and the implementation and dissemination of online courses for teachers. The courses are expected to be delivered through platforms such as DIKSHA, UK e-Srijan and Mission Karmayogi, with KEF adapting and rolling out its AI course for educators for the state's teachers.
The partnership embeds AI literacy directly in a state-level teacher professional development system and delivers it through public platforms such as DIKSHA, moving AI teacher training from isolated courses toward a replicable state-scale path. For teachers, course content and platform access will shape whether they can obtain systematic AI teaching competency training; for education product providers, state-level procurement and platform distribution channels may become key entry points to India's public education market. The source only confirms the MoU signing and course plans, and does not provide course launch dates, teacher coverage numbers, or training outcome data. Teachers in Uttarakhand can access AI literacy courses through public platforms such as DIKSHA, with coverage depending on actual course launch and rollout progress. KEF's AI course model, which reached over 750,000 teachers in Maharashtra, is being replicated in a new state, potentially encouraging more states to adopt similar public-private teacher AI training paths.
