Shanghai Hongmei Road Lifelong Education Center Offers AI and Video Editing Courses for Seniors, Classes Hard to Book
A newly opened lifelong education experience center in Hongmei Road Subdistrict, Xuhui District, Shanghai, offers public lectures and community courses for nearby elderly residents, organized by the subdistrict community (senior) school with the Zhixin Youhuo AI public welfare team and more than ten partner companies. Courses cover mobile video editing, practical AI skills and smart device use, and the mobile video shooting and editing class is described as hard to book. The center held more than 30 public lectures on a regular basis this summer, and its public lectures have drawn over 1,000 participant visits to date.
This is a concrete case of AI skills teaching entering community senior education, showing that AI popularization for non-professional groups is moving from online content to offline courses with venues, volunteers and company-provided devices. For AI education product practitioners, demand for digital age-friendliness among older adults is being taken up by the community education system, and tight course registration indicates supply remains limited. The original text provides no quantitative results on learning outcomes or skill improvement; participant visits and course counts are the only verifiable figures. Community senior education institutions gain a replicable multi-party course model, with AI skills teaching becoming one of the regular course contents. AI applications and age-friendly devices for older adults gain offline teaching and experience channels, and product usability barriers are directly exposed in class.
