UK Opens a Tender for Safe AI Tutoring, with Up to Eight Products to Be Tested in Schools

On April 16, the UK government invited education-technology and AI companies to join a safe tutoring-tool project, planning to select up to eight companies for school testing beginning in the summer.

The project connects teacher co-design, common benchmarks, safety requirements, and real-classroom testing into a procurement pathway, primarily serving disadvantaged students in Years 9 and 10.
