Beijing Trains More Than 70 Rural Homestay Operators in Three-Day AI-Enabled Digital Operations Program

From August 19 to 21, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism held its second 2026 rural-homestay workshop at the China Farmers Training Institute for more than 70 operators of city-rated rural homestays and other participants. Practitioners from Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Meituan, Fliggy, Tujia, and the Manyou Jingjiao mini program taught short video, livestreaming, advertising, reviews, property listings, and online-travel-agency operations. AI modules covered homestay management, reuse of idle rural assets, and creating short videos, promotional copy, and posters. The program also included visits to two homestay and rural spaces, a salon, and project pitches.

The program embeds AI instruction in rural homestay marketing, content production, and operational analysis with a defined audience, tools, and business tasks, making it a form of workforce development. The official account records curriculum and participant feedback but gives no data on tool adoption, business conversion, or cost changes. Operators practiced AI-generated short videos, copy, and posters alongside multi-platform operations. The bureau brought platform specialists, model homestays, and peer pitches into one program to support later industry exchange and resource connections.
