Coursera Survey Across Five Countries Finds AI Use Above 95% but Teacher Readiness Still Clearly Lagging

On February 25, Coursera released its first global report on AI in higher education, covering more than 4,200 students and teachers across five countries. More than 95% of respondents said they used AI in educational settings.

The report also found that only about one-quarter of teachers believed their peers had the relevant skills, revealing a gap between the pace of tool adoption and teachers' professional readiness.

The data comes from a survey published by a platform provider. Follow-up should examine the sample structure, investment in teacher training, and learning outcomes, without treating high usage as high-quality adoption.
