ESOFT Partners with UK AI Board to Offer AI Qualifications from Age 14 at 40 Sri Lanka Study Centres

Sri Lankan education provider ESOFT has partnered with The AI Board, UK, to offer a UK-regulated AI qualification pathway from age 14 to master's level through 40 study centres islandwide and ESOFT Online. The six-stage pathway begins with the Level 2 Award in Understanding AI and progresses through Levels 3, 4 and 5, leading to top-up degrees from Kingston University London and MSc programmes through ESOFT UNI. Learners can choose between Applied AI & Engineering and AI Business tracks, and the qualifications are regulated by Ofqual. The partnership was officially launched on 28 September 2026 at Waters Edge, Battaramulla.

The partnership extends a UK-regulated AI qualification pathway to 40 centres across Sri Lanka and online, giving learners aged 14 and older outside Colombo access to structured AI education from Level 2 to master's level, while teachers can obtain a free AI teaching qualification. It offers a verifiable model of cross-border qualification progression and incorporates AI governance, ethics and responsible use into the curriculum. Because the programme was launched on 28 September 2026, actual enrolment scale, completion rates and learning outcomes still need public data for verification. Learners aged 14 and older in Sri Lanka can obtain UK-regulated AI qualifications at 40 local centres or online, progressing to master's level. Teachers, lecturers and trainers can obtain the Level 3 Award in AI for Teaching Professionals free of charge, expanding the supply of AI teaching capacity.
