Ghana Scholar Calls for AI Education Guidelines
Professor Eric Appau Asante, Coordinator of AI Courses at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), called for the establishment of national and institutional guidelines to regulate AI use in education. He warned that AI integration could exacerbate existing inequalities, with well-connected urban schools benefiting more than resource-limited rural institutions. The professor emphasized that AI cannot address basic challenges like classroom repairs, electricity, or teacher recruitment.
The professor noted that AI integration could worsen educational inequalities and emphasized the need to consider school realities.
