iHUB and Mastercard Foundation Select 12 Kenyan Startups for 18-Month EdTech Fellowship

iHUB and Mastercard Foundation have selected 12 early-stage Kenyan startups for an 18-month EdTech Fellowship, with up to $100,000 in equity-free financing for each company. The cohort focuses on assistive technology and AI-supported learning products for learners with disabilities, refugees, displaced people, girls, and rural communities. An earlier eight-month cohort served growth-stage companies, while this one targets early-stage startups.

The program directly addresses limited evidence of learning impact and underinvestment in African EdTech. Long-term support and equity-free financing can move AI education products for marginalized groups from pilots toward sustainability.
