AI job postings in Korea jump 128% as nontechnical roles grow to 21.6%
JobKorea, a Korean recruitment platform, reported on September 16 that AI-related job postings in Korea rose 128 percent in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025. Nondevelopment AI roles grew 325 percent year-on-year and accounted for 21.6 percent of all AI postings, up from 11.6 percent a year earlier. AI content creator postings rose 405 percent and AI education consultant postings rose 195 percent. SK hynix and LG Electronics added AI skills assessments to recruitment, and Kia introduced an AI problem-solving evaluation stage across all job categories.
The data indicates that AI literacy is shifting from a developer-specific skill to a baseline requirement for planning, business and content roles, which directly affects the direction of AI education and curriculum design. For education product professionals, the 195 percent rise in AI education consultant postings signals an emerging standalone demand for roles that combine AI and education. For employers, Kia's expansion of AI problem-solving evaluation to all job categories may push job seekers to build AI skills earlier. The data comes from a single recruitment platform's keyword-based analysis, with no sample error or independent verification provided, and the rise in nontechnical roles may also reflect changes in job classification. A 195 percent rise in AI education consultant postings indicates education institutions and companies are forming a distinct hiring category for people who understand both AI and education. Kia's AI problem-solving evaluation across all job categories may push job seekers and students to treat AI skills as a general job-preparation requirement.
