Karnataka to Introduce AI Education from Grade 6 and Establish a Public AI University

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced in an Independence Day address that the state plans to introduce AI education from Grade 6 through two programs, AI Akshara Abhiyana and Coding Gurukula. Karnataka also plans to establish India's first government-owned AI university in Bengaluru and launch AI certificate courses in January 2027.
