South Korea Distributes Adapted AI Digital Materials to Students with Developmental Disabilities for the First Time

On March 12, South Korea's Ministry of Education announced the distribution through the National Institute of Special Education of AI and digital learning materials for students with developmental disabilities, covering Korean language and mathematics in designated grades.

The materials are designed around the learning styles and sensory characteristics of students with intellectual disabilities and autism, treating special education as a distinct context instead of directly reusing mainstream materials.

Key areas to watch include support for teacher use, accessible interactions, links to individualized education programs, and evidence of student participation and learning progress.
