LG Uplus and South Korea's Defense Ministry Host AI Camp for Military Children

LG Uplus said on Sept. 14 that it will hold the "I-Dream Challenge LG Uplus AI Plus Camp" with South Korea's Ministry of National Defense at Konjiam Resort in Gwangju, Gyeonggi province. A total of 303 people will take part, including 110 students in grades 4 to 6 and 193 guardians, under the theme "Mission: Protect Mom and Dad, Little AI Guardians." Students will attend a generative AI magic performance, join AI experience programs and take part in an AI hackathon, building a "guardian robot" with sensors and coding, creating presentation materials with AI and presenting their results with mentoring support.

This is an AI education practice jointly run by a company and a government ministry for a specific family group, covering both hands-on student activities and guardian awareness. Its impact centers on digital skill exposure for military children and guardians' ability to respond to the generative AI education environment, but the camp is a one-time event and no independent research or quantitative results demonstrate learning outcomes. Provides 110 military children with hands-on opportunities in generative AI experiences, coding-based robot building and hackathon presentations. Helps 193 guardians understand changes in the education environment brought by generative AI through a lecture and experience zones.
