Malaysia Expands Rakyat Digital with Free AI Tools and Coursera Access for 100,000 Young People

Malaysia's government is expanding the Rakyat Digital learning platform with 100,000 places for citizens ages 18–30 to receive three months of free access to leading AI tools from August 31, 2026. Beginning September 16, the Global Learning Pass will enroll 25,000 people each quarter for three free months of Coursera. An AI Builders Hub will launch in October to support participants in developing their own AI solutions.

The policy directly broadens young Malaysians' access to tools and courses and provides infrastructure for talent development at scale. Lower barriers and a shift from AI users toward creators support the AI Nation 2030 goal. One hundred thousand young people gain free tools, while 25,000 each quarter gain free courses and greater access to AI skills.
