The National University of Singapore has announced that all undergraduates entering from August must complete at least two compulsory AI courses to graduate. Under the strategy announced on August 11, all new students will take the introductory module 'Applied Generative AI: From Prompting to Evaluation,' and every major will add at least one required AI-related course. Of NUS's approximately 29,600 undergraduates, more than 85% are in colleges that incorporate AI into common curricula.
Singapore's Ministry of Education launched its Teacher AI Literacy Professional Learning Roadmap in August 2026, requiring every primary, secondary, and junior college teacher to complete a foundational AI module on ethics, safety, and responsible use by the end of 2026. The other two modules are recommended by the end of 2027, and each takes about 30–45 minutes online. Singapore had 29,605 primary, secondary, and junior college teachers as of 2024.
