Mapúa Education Group Plans to Produce 200,000 AI-Fluent Learners by 2029

Mapúa Education Group in the Philippines announced a plan to produce 200,000 AI-fluent learners by 2029, covering undergraduate, graduate, short-course participants, and professionals. The initiative is part of iPeople Inc.'s expansion of AI education and will update courses in engineering, computing, business, health, and design, adding short courses, professional certificates, and AI teaching resources. Mapúa has partnered with OpenAI, Altair, and Arizona State University to support curriculum redesign and faculty development.

This initiative directly responds to the demand for AI skills in the Philippine labor market and is based on studies by PIDS and ILO, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of young workers.
