Odisha Signs MoUs, Launches AI Course for All to Boost Skills

The Odisha Higher Education Department signed MoUs with CSRBOX, Nandi Foundation, and OKCL, and launched the 'AI Course for All' program with NASSCOM to provide online AI training to over 100,000 students and faculty. The IBM-CSRBOX project will cover 125,000 students, focusing on 107 remote institutions. Nandi Foundation offers offline training for final-year female students, while OKCL provides 30 hours of English and 10 hours of AI digital training.

This event shows a state government systematically embedding AI education into higher education through multi-party collaboration, directly affecting student skill profiles and employment readiness. For AI education providers, it creates clear procurement and partnership opportunities and may influence regional education standards. However, actual implementation outcomes and course quality remain to be seen, depending on execution and evaluation. Over 125,000 students will receive AI-related skill training, enhancing digital literacy and employability. Students in 107 remote institutions get focused support, potentially narrowing urban-rural AI education gaps.
