Seoul council member visits three Gangdong-gu schools to review AI education and student welfare

Seoul Metropolitan Council member Jang Tae-yong (People Power Party, Gangdong District 6) visited Seonrin Elementary School, Dunchon Middle School and Dunchon High School in Gangdong-gu on Wednesday to review AI education, student care, career guidance and school sports. At Dunchon Middle School, he examined AI-integrated classes, student council activities, the school soccer team and community-linked sports and cultural programs, focusing on whether the changing educational environment translates into actual lessons and student life. At Dunchon High School, he reviewed a student-tailored elective curriculum, software, AI and creative convergence education, and career, college-entrance and international education programs. He said school feedback should be reflected in the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's policies and budget.

This is a local legislator's on-site check on how AI education is being implemented, with attention shifting from device use to actual changes in lessons and student life, and a pledge to feed school feedback into the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's policy and budget process. For schools and teachers, such reviews may affect resource allocation for AI courses, after-school care and college-entrance programs; for AI education product providers, local education budgets and policy direction are important variables in adoption conditions. So far this is only a visit and statements, with no specific policy, budget figures or program results announced. AI-integrated classes, after-school care and college-entrance programs at the three Gangdong-gu schools may enter Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education policy and budget discussions, affecting future resource allocation. The local legislator's focus on actual classroom change rather than device use may push schools to pay more attention to teaching outcomes and teacher support in AI education.
