UNESCO launches Observatory on Artificial Intelligence in Education for Latin America and the Caribbean

UNESCO launched the Observatory on Artificial Intelligence in Education for Latin America and the Caribbean on 14 April 2026 at ECLAC headquarters in Santiago, Chile, as a regional platform to support States in integrating AI into their education systems. The initiative is led by UNESCO with CAF, Chile's National Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Cetic.br, ECLAC, the Ceibal Foundation and other partners, and has an Advisory Council including the OECD, OEI and Harvard University experts.
