Indian-origin alumni donate $20 million to University of North Texas to establish AI and advanced analytics college

Indian-origin alumni Anuradha and Vikas Sinha have donated USD 20 million to their alma mater, the University of North Texas (UNT) in Texas, with a focus on artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. UNT will establish the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics as an academic and research hub focused on AI, intelligent systems and data analytics. The gift will create six permanent endowments supporting college leadership, student scholarships, endowed professorships, entrepreneurship and incubation, advanced research and emerging technologies.

This is a concrete university-level move to establish an AI college with permanent endowment funding, changing the supply conditions for AI-related degrees, faculty and research infrastructure and thus the capacity and direction of AI talent development.
