Greece introduced new rules governing artificial intelligence use in schools, setting clear limits on how students and teachers can use tools such as ChatGPT in the classroom. The framework follows a year-long pilot in around 20 public and model high schools, keeps AI use voluntary, and bars AI from grading and performance assessments. Schools must designate an AI Use Coordinator, and entering minors' names, photographs, voice recordings, grades and health information into AI applications is prohibited.
Nhan Dan Online reports that Vietnam piloted the introduction of artificial intelligence in schools during the 2025-2026 academic year, with nationwide implementation planned from the 2026-2027 academic year. The report says the biggest question now facing the education sector is no longer whether AI should be taught, but how to teach and learn so that learners truly master the technology.
BRICS leaders on Saturday endorsed sharing best practices in education on the human-centred use of emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, and discussed further exploration for the development of the BRICS University Global Ranking and Evaluation System. Xiangcheng Economic Development Zone in Suzhou has been named a UNESCO AI Education Demonstration Zone for Asia-Africa Youth and received a plaque. Shenzhen Dianmao Technology Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese STEM education company, has simultaneously moved its Suzhou regional subsidiary into the zone. The project is located on the second floor of Section 6, Cailianli Commercial Plaza, 2900 Xiangcheng Avenue, Xiangcheng District, with a floor area of 266 square meters. Codemao states it has applied for more than 770 patents, registered over 2,800 copyrights, served more than 70,000 schools nationwide, and accumulated over 43 million users.

Indian-origin alumni Anuradha and Vikas Sinha have donated USD 20 million to their alma mater, the University of North Texas (UNT) in Texas, with a focus on artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. UNT will establish the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics as an academic and research hub focused on AI, intelligent systems and data analytics. The gift will create six permanent endowments supporting college leadership, student scholarships, endowed professorships, entrepreneurship and incubation, advanced research and emerging technologies.
In the summer of 2026, the teaching research office of the Zhushan District Education and Sports Bureau in Jingdezhen organized AI literacy education training across all 27 schools in the district, with all teachers participating. The training followed the paths of policy study, tool practice and summary improvement, under a three-tier mechanism of district coordination, school implementation and full participation. At No. 7 Primary School, 86 participating teachers mastered more than two AI teaching tools; No. 12 Primary School achieved a 100% participation rate through online study on the national smart education platform.
The New South Wales government released new rules on 1 September 2026 limiting schools to a maximum of one take-home assessment task worth no more than 15 per cent of the school-based assessment mark, or 7.5 per cent of the total HSC mark. The advice from the NSW Education Standards Authority applies to the Class of 2027 beginning HSC studies in Term 4 this year and to students starting Year 11 in Term 1, 2027. HSC major works and some courses including creative arts, technologies and English Extension 2 are exempt, but schools must still authenticate students' work.
K12 Academics released its 2026 State of AI in Education Report on August 14, 2026. The report says 60% of teachers used AI in the 2024–25 school year, roughly double the year before; 54% of K-12 students and 92% of university students use AI for schoolwork; 86% of education organizations use generative AI; teachers who use AI weekly save an average of 5.9 hours a week; and 68% of teachers received no AI training. It also says roughly 34 states plus D.C. and Puerto Rico have issued AI guidance, while most district policies still do not reference it.
