BRICS countries adopted the New Delhi Declaration at the BRICS Summit held in Delhi on September 12-13, 2026. The declaration backs safe, ethical and human-centred use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, in education, alongside mutual recognition of qualifications, academic and professional mobility, digital literacy and stronger institutional partnerships. It also supports exchange and scholarship programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels through existing mechanisms such as the BRICS Network University.
Bihar is preparing a new skill development framework for undergraduate students under the National Education Policy (NEP), focusing on artificial intelligence, practical skills and industrial training. The initiative is being prepared by the Governor and Chancellor's Secretariat and is expected to be introduced across universities in the state. A Student Skill Development Cell would be established in every university, and the plan covers students in 268 constituent colleges, including industry-linked training, guidance from experts with AI company experience, and an Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP).
The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services education exhibition was held at Shougang Park under the theme "Education Power, Smart Innovation for the Future," with two zones for international cooperation and smart education. The second batch of the "Jingwa" education agent matrix was unveiled, covering classroom assistance, personalized learning, campus governance and public education services. Eight Korean colleges, including Keimyung College University, and EBS jointly developed a course titled "AI Ethics Stories in Everyday Life" as part of a college innovation support project. The eight colleges and EBS co-designed the learning objectives, course content and assessment framework, with each college contributing lecture topics and faculty based on its expertise. The consortium plans to expand credit recognition beyond participating institutions and extend the program into AI education and certification for community members. It is the second joint achievement by the eight colleges and EBS, following last year's AI Office Competency Micro-Degree program.
On September 11, 2026, International STEAM Research (ISR) received the Special Recognition Award for AI for Social Impact at the TOI AI Quotient Awards, organized by The Times of India. Led by Kolkata-based educationist and AI entrepreneur George Panicker, ISR has introduced STEAM labs and educational toolkits in schools across India and runs teacher-training and community outreach programs. The award, presented by entrepreneur Anupam Mittal, recognized ISR's work combining science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics education with artificial intelligence to expand learning opportunities.
