BRICS New Delhi Declaration backs safe, ethical AI use in education

BRICS countries adopted the New Delhi Declaration at the BRICS Summit held in Delhi on September 12-13, 2026. The declaration backs safe, ethical and human-centred use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, in education, alongside mutual recognition of qualifications, academic and professional mobility, digital literacy and stronger institutional partnerships. It also supports exchange and scholarship programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels through existing mechanisms such as the BRICS Network University.
