People's Education Audio-Visual Press Leads Development of Textbook Learning Agent, Launched on Xiaoyuan AI Learning Devices

On August 21, with support from People's Education Audio-Visual Digital Press, Xiaoyuan Learning Device held a launch event for its Primary and Secondary School Textbook Learning Agent, and the two parties signed a cooperation agreement. Led by the press, the agent is based on textbook resources and Yuanli's large model and offers AI study companion and AI guided-learning modes. A pilot began on Xiaoyuan's first AI learning-device model in March 2026; company figures cited by the report say cumulative student use exceeded 100,000. The report also gave Chinese and English mastery and speaking-rate metrics but did not explain sample selection, control groups, or independent verification.

The launch combines a publisher's textbook content, an education model, and a learning-device channel in one product spanning textbook presentation, questions, assessment, and guided study. A pilot with more than 100,000 cumulative users is worth observing, while the reported outcome figures remain company disclosures and do not establish causal learning effects. Students can use read-along, recitation assessment, vocabulary study, AI Q&A, and guided tasks on the same textbook content. The press is responsible for content and publishing standards, while Xiaoyuan supplies the model, teaching research, and devices.
