Zibo Special Education School Uses AI and VR for Life Skills Training

At Zichuan Special Education Center in Zibo, Shandong, teacher Wan Ronghui uses AI avatars for classroom conversation practice and creates virtual scenarios like supermarket shopping. Since December 2023, the school has built a full-campus VR covering 360 points, allowing new students to practice routes. Teacher Wang Liebing developed an AI assistant 'Xiao Yi' supporting voice commands.

This case demonstrates practical AI application in special education, helping students generalize life skills and reduce anxiety from environmental changes. It may encourage other special schools to adopt similar technologies, but effects need larger-scale validation.
