More Than 1,400 Beijing Primary and Secondary Schools Continue General AI Courses at Eight Hours per Academic Year

Implementation information published by the Beijing municipal government on April 10 confirms that more than 1,400 primary and secondary schools across the city continue to provide general AI education for at least eight hours per academic year, supported by a lecturer team, course resources, and experts.

This information reflects the 2026 implementation progress of a 2025 policy. It shows that Beijing has completed the basic chain from a work plan and local curriculum guidelines to school coverage, so it should no longer be described as a future plan that has yet to be implemented.

'School coverage' does not show that every school has delivered the full required hours or that course quality is consistent. Follow-up should verify instructional-time fulfillment, teacher sources, course materials, student work, and admission rules for educational AI products.
