Zhejiang AI Learning Platform Serves 520,000 Primary and Secondary Students and Teachers, with More Than 800,000 Teacher-Training Attendances

At a May 7 press conference, China's Ministry of Education reported that Zhejiang had established a general AI education system spanning primary, secondary, and higher education. Its information-technology and AI learning platform for primary and secondary education serves 520,000 students and teachers, while cumulative teacher AI training exceeds 800,000 attendances.

Zhejiang is also advancing AI-assisted teaching reform in 14 counties, county-level cities, or districts, 32 primary and secondary schools, and 75 universities, while another 100 pilot schools are working across 18 scenarios. These figures record the scale of platforms, training, and pilots; they do not show that schools across the province have reached the same course quality.

Key areas to watch include monthly active users and course completion on the platform, the number of unique teachers represented by training attendances, the share of pilots becoming routine teaching, and whether schools publish results on learning processes, teacher workload, and data governance.
