Kaspersky Global Survey: 18% of Gen Z See Personalised AI Tutors as a Most Promising Education Technology

On World Teachers' Day (5 October), Kaspersky published global research from its internal market research centre. 18% of Gen Z respondents named personalised AI tutors as one of the most promising future technologies, above 16% overall; 14% of Gen Z favoured VR/AR classrooms with AI assistants, versus 12% overall. 68% of Gen Z said they had seen technology become more widely used in their education over the past five years, compared with 55% overall. Kaspersky also launched an online training series on responsible AI use in education and a "Digital schoolbag" guide.

The data places AI tutors and VR/AR classrooms among the education technologies Gen Z views most favourably, offering verifiable generational evidence on demand expectations for education AI products. Kaspersky's emphasis on AI literacy, information verification, human expertise and data protection indicates that adoption conditions for education AI include usage norms and supporting training, not only model capability. The research is vendor-internal, and sample size, regional distribution and methodology are not disclosed in the source, limiting how far the findings can be generalised. Education AI product teams can gauge the strength of Gen Z preference for personalised AI tutors and VR/AR classrooms, while noting the data comes from vendor-internal research with undisclosed sample and method. Schools and teachers adopting AI tools may find AI literacy, information verification and data protection training a precondition for adoption rather than optional.
