Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training will incorporate 12 core AI lessons into the general education curriculum from grades 1 to 12 starting in the 2026-2027 school year, covering four areas: human-centered thinking, AI ethics, AI techniques and applications, and AI system design. Professor Le Anh Vinh, Director of the Institute of Educational Strategy and Policy, said the debate has shifted from whether to ban AI in 2023 to how to use it in 2026. He cited a 2024 survey in which 48% of surveyed students had not received teacher guidance on using AI, 47% felt a lack of knowledge and skills, and over 42% faced equipment and technology difficulties.
Fiji's Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran, said Fiji is exploring AI literacy programs for children. She spoke after taking part in the Science and Technology Working Group discussions at the 153rd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly. Kiran said scientists warned that AI could emerge as a major global threat alongside climate change, and that Fiji is partnering with some countries to explore ways to improve AI literacy among children and parents.
Cambridge released the research paper Shaping AI Policy and Practice in English Language Teaching, based on interviews conducted in early 2025 with 15 teachers and teacher trainers across 13 countries and six continents. The report finds practical benefits of generative AI in lesson preparation, personalised materials and feedback, alongside concerns about accuracy, bias, privacy and students outsourcing their thinking. It argues that access to AI tools alone will not deliver better learning, and that effective integration requires teacher expertise, sustained professional development and policies grounded in classroom practice.
The University of Missouri is collaborating with Google Public Sector to expand access to AI infrastructure, training, technical expertise, and high-performance computing for researchers across the University of Missouri System. The collaboration operates through Mizzou's AI Education, Research and Infrastructure Center, known as AERI. It includes four components: AI education and skills development, hands-on access to Gemini Enterprise, seed grants, and dedicated Google Cloud engineers.
